About

I've been having this idea of an interactive world map displaying global news since 2020 during lockdown, but back then I had no way of coding it, and it was hard to imagine fetching news from all over the world by myself or managing a team who would do it. Even after generative AI came to light in 2023, it took me time to see that these obstacles were being lifted one by one; it's only in end 2025 that I started working on it with the help of AI.

I'm as excited as I am frightened by this technology which is now everywhere and increasingly used for misinformation, to the point we don't even know for sure what content is human-made anymore (spoiler: mine isn't entirely). I believe there should be people using AI the other way around, to help spread correct information, backed by real newspapers. I think the world might be a better place if everyone could access the latest information with a simple click. That's why I want it to be free, I want the user experience to be smooth and fun, and I'll avoid displaying ads for as long as I can.

I know the website is far from being perfect. Some countries are under-represented (or not represented at all), and there's a strong bias favoring English-speaking media for now. I'm working to improve it. The aim isn't to be exhaustive — that would be impossible — but to give you a distilled global overview of recent world news, in as objective a way as possible, without editorial value judgments. That doesn't mean I don't have my own thoughts about what happens in the world. Writing these lines in somewhat gloomy and uncertain days, I hope from the bottom of my heart that my world map will be displaying more and more good news as time goes by.
